State Rooms
The state rooms, all overlooking both the park and the Courtyard of Honor, are the heart of the ground floor. Most striking of all is the beauty of the great Aurora Room.
The first room in the east wing is the small “Hall of Titans,” a quadrangular space that leads into the large Hall of Aurora, the heart of the Palace.
We immediately raise our eyes to admire the large fresco on the ceiling that seems to illuminate the space, “Aurora and the apparition of Apollo’s solar chariot” executed by Montalto. Then we let our gaze run along the perspective telescope of the garden, until we glimpse the large Baroque fountain behind the Italian-style parterre.
After passing the Hall of Aurora, we find two smaller, but equally interesting rooms: these are the “Hall of Vulcan” and the “Hall of Monarchy.”
