Rules for visitors

Palazzo Arese Borromeo is delighted to welcome you. To ensure your time exploring our rooms is as enjoyable as possible, we kindly ask you to follow a few simple rules of conduct and, generally, observe common courtesy.

Prohibited inside the Palace:

  • Eating or drinking in the exhibition areas;
  • Touching or leaning against the walls;
  • Running in the rooms;
  • Bringing in alcoholic beverages;
  • Bringing in knives or sharp objects;
  • Smoking (including e-cigarettes);
  • Leaving trash outside the designated bins;
  • Taking photos using flash or tripods. Photos for non-personal use require prior authorization (see the relevant item in the “Services” section);
  • Bringing in animals. Only small dogs carried in your arms, guide dogs for the visually impaired, or service dogs for individuals with disabilities are permitted inside the Palace;
  • Any behavior that endangers the safety of the building and/or other visitors;
  • Bringing bicycles or motorcycles into the Courtyard, even if walked by hand. Security staff, identifiable by their badges, are available to provide visitors with information about the Palace and its services. Staff are responsible for the safety of the building, people, and ensuring compliance with these regulations.

Forbidden within the Garden:

  • Defacing or damaging sculptures and architectural elements;
  • Picking or damaging plants and flowers;
  • Bringing in alcoholic beverages;
  • Bringing in knives or sharp objects;
  • Disturbing or feeding the animals in the park;
  • Leaving trash outside the designated bins / Littering;
  • Playing ball, digging holes, throwing stones, and running in a way that disturbs other visitors;
  • Bringing in animals. Dogs of any size are not permitted, with the exception of guide dogs for the visually impaired and service dogs for people with disabilities;
  • Any behavior that endangers the safety of other park visitors;
  • Bringing in bicycles, motorcycles, skateboards, skates, or scooters, even if walked by hand. Bringing in motorized vehicles of any kind.

Custody service

Security staff, identifiable by their badges, are available to provide visitors with information about the Palace and the services offered. Staff are responsible for the security of the building and everyone inside, and for ensuring these regulations are followed.

Visitors must therefore comply with instructions given by security staff, who are authorized to intervene if necessary, including removing anyone whose behavior endangers safety or disturbs other visitors.
